Q1: What kind of music do you release?

A: LVD is primarily focused on documenting
1) The NZ underground, 2) American outsider free-folk,
3) Japanese Psych-rock

Q2: Can I send you promos?

A: You can, however I am a year deep in my release schedule, and am at this point almost exclusively releasing artists either already on the label, or related artists.  If you have not been asked to send promos, it is highly unlikely I will have time to listen to whatever you send.

HOWEVER...I am continuing to work on the Crows of the World compilation series which documents both familiar and unknown artists.  If you would like to send a track for this, please make it clear that the track is to be considered for Crows of the World.  Multiple tracks of varying lengths is preferable.  If your track is chosen, it may not be released for upwards of 1 year.

Q3: What happened to the CD-R catalog?

A: All CD-Rs were discontinued at the end of 2004.  Please do not ask for them!

Q4: Most of the LVD catalog is available as MP3 for cheaper...?

A: LVD has been forced to embrace the changing ways in which people are listening to and buying music.  Most legitimate download sites are selling authorized mp3s of the catalog--not bootlegs. 

I can't tell you how to listen to music, but for myself, I am happy to still offer this music as a physical format and am not planning on discontinuing the release of physical albums anytime in the near future.

Q5: I'm from a store or distributor, can we purchase CDs from you directly?

A: Yes, please send an e-mail for wholesale rates, etc.

Q6: How do I receive promo copies?

A: LVD maintains a promo list, such that when a new release comes out, people on the list are serviced.  LVD does not send out specific titles upon request (you are always welcome to purchase them...)  To remain on the list you must service LVD through playlists, reviews, etc.
